Hone Mihaka, Passionate Northland Maori Leader

Rangatira is the Maori word for a chief or leader. These could be either bloodline or exceptional individuals. Hone is both. With a life history encompassing alienation, discrimination, conflict in his early years and transcendence, healing, and representation in his later years, Hone is a fine advocate for the history of Nga Puhi, the fierce northern tribe he calls his own.
